Library for the Blind & Physically Handicapped  


The Arkansas Regional Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped  is part of the Library of Congress National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS) network and the Arkansas State Library. Arkansas citizens unable to use regular print material may borrow popular books and magazines in recorded or Braille format free of charge.


Books are mailed directly to the patron's home on free loan and may be returned postage free after a maximum of 6 weeks. Cassette and Braille books are on loan for 6 weeks. Digital books are in short supply and must be returned in 30 days


Special format digital playback machines, 4-track cassette playback machines, and adaptive equipment are provided on free loan for as long as patrons need and are using the service.

Braille and Audio Reading Download (BARD)

Patrons with access to a computer and high speed internet access may download audio books and magazines from the National Library Service for the Blind's BARD program. There are currently over 20,000 audio books and 45 audio format magazines available for free download. Please click here to sign up for BARD.
